A Study Of The History Of“Dynasties Of Conquest”studies In Japan

“Dynasties of Conquest”is a historical theory,whose main content divides ancient Chinese society into two types(the typically Chinese society and infiltration&conquest dynasties)by Cultivation Theory,divides Minority regime into Infiltrating Dynasty and Conquest Dynasty,put forward by the German-American scholar Wittfogel in the1940s(1946-1949).“Conquest dynasties” includes the Culturally Resistant,the Culturally Yielding and Transitional.Because the “Dynasties of Conquest”fits the needs of Japanese scholars to construct a system of North Asian history(divorced from the category of Chinese history),and Japanese scholars believe that the concept of“Dynasties of Conquest” is more clearly summarizing the nature of minority regimes in the history of China than theories of other Japanese scholars did.Therefore,it was quickly accepted by Japanese academia.After the criticism and development of Jitsuzo Tamura and other scholars,“Dynasties of Conquest”has merged into the theory of conquering Dynasty with Japanese characteristics,becoming the important content of North Asia.There are five parts in the text.The first part,“Introduction”,mainly reviewing relevant academic history,introducing the research ideas,methods and difficulties;The second part is “Japanese scholars' early research about Chinese minority regime(1900-1944)”,introducing and analyzing the theories of Shiratori Kurakichi,Matsuda Hisao and Egami Namio,which has laid the theoretical foundation for the Japanese scholars to study “Dynasties of Conquest”;The third part is “the Contents of Wittfogel's‘Dynasties of Conquest' and early spread in Japan(1946-1949)”,which introduces the background of the Dynasty and its spread in Japan;The fourth part is “research and development of ‘Dynasties of Conquest' in Japan(1949-)”,which introduces the main viewpoints and research status of Japanese scholars;The fifth part is“Conclusion”,criticizing the study of Wittfogel and Japanese scholars on the "Dynasties of Conquest",concluding the progress and character of Japanese research.It also aims to put forward some thoughts.
