The paper first analyzes cognitive characteristics of preschool children from three aspects——Piaget's cognitive development theory,modern cognitive psychology and cognitive load theory.Then,based on the cases analysis of home and abroad animation stories of preschool children,find the intersection field between the animation story and the cognitive development.And then in order to provide a theoretical basis for the creation of the animation story for preschool children in our country,summarize the principles of the animation story.According to the research,the author thinks the story of animation should have a clear theme,a pan-spiritual view of the world,game paly,interactivity and repeatability.And present the story in an intuitive and visual way.In the end,the author made the animated short film"Rainbow" which based on the conclusion to verify the correctness of it.The innovation of the paper lies in taking preschoolers aged 3-6 years old as the research object,taking animation stories as the research content.And combining the cognitive development discipline with animation based on the cognitive development characteristics of preschoolers to justified those discipline.Preschool children are in the critical period of cognitive development and not form the right and wrong view.They need to be properly guided.Animation is one of the ways of entertainment and perceive the world for preschool children.Therefore,it is very important for them to create animation from the perspective of cognitive development.
