Based on the third chapter of Built for Global:Navigating International Business and Entering New Markets written by Robert S.Pearlstein and Janet A.Gregory,this report is divided into four parts:the first part is a brief introduction about the content,requirements,purpose and meaning of this program.The second part describes the process of translation,including preparation,translation and review.In order to find proper translation methods and principles,the translator has read the original text carefully prior to translation to search features of the text.The writers describe some business cases and stories that enterprises could learn from for international development.The original text is logically and precisely organized,and some sentences is vivid with figures of speech.Taking text features into consideration,the translator adopted communicative translation presented by Peter Newmark.After translation,my mentor and editors of the press reviewed and amended the targeted text over and over again before it was published.In the third part,the translator discusses some typical translation cases in the view of titles,graphs,sheets,Chinese idioms and conversion of word classes in light of translation content and strategies.In the last part,the translator makes a summary about what have been learned from this program and how to deal with translation difficulties that have been met.This report is written not only to describe the translator's work and translation methods,but to offer some reference on title translation,nouns translation and communicative translation to people who will translate similar texts.
