Abstract/Summary:
In the context of the global "Chinese fever",more and more countries have established Confucius Institutes and accepted volunteers from Chinese teachers in cooperation with the National Office of Chinese Language.Following the close cooperation of the Chinese language project between China and Thailand,the Thai Adult Education Commission,affiliated to the Ministry of Education of Thailand,formally applied to the Chinese Language Teacher Volunteer Office in 2013.The students in the teaching points under the Adult Education Committee are mainly social adults.Compared with full-time students,they are older,have more scattered learning time and have greater mobility.For teachers in adult classes,it is particularly important to choose appropriate teaching methods and try to protect students’ learning enthusiasm and ensure the efficiency of the classroom within a limited period of time.Faced with many difficulties in Chinese learning,game teaching,with interesting games as its carrier,is a good way to assist teachers in teaching and help students overcome their fear of difficulties.It is also worth considering by Chinese teachers in adult classes.In the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and related research,the application of game teaching in children’s and adolescents’ Chinese classes is more discussed,while the application of game teaching in adult Chinese classes,especially in social adult Chinese classes,is seldom mentioned.Based on the author’s and colleagues’ teaching experience in overseas adult Chinese classes,this paper aims to explore the application of game teaching in Thai adult Chinese classes and related matters needing attention by consulting literature,presenting and commenting on cases,etc.In terms of structure,this paper is mainly divided into five parts:The first part explains the origin of this article,collates the relevant literature,and summarizes the current situation and theoretical basis of game teaching.The second part explores the necessity and feasibility of using games in adult Chinese classes in Thailand by analyzing the questionnaires of teachers and students.The third part combines the author’s own overseas teaching experience and the experience of colleagues in Thailand to present and analyze the application of game teaching in adult Chinese classroom as a teaching case.The fourth part is the teaching design for the problems and experiences reflected and summarized in the second and third parts;the fifth part is the summary of the full text.Research methods,this paper mainly through literature,questionnaires,interviews,case analysis,classroom observation and induction methods to study the problem.
