The Research On The Image Of "Crazy Woman" Study In Chinese Feminist Criticism

Since 1980's,Chinese feminist criticism pays constant attention to the image of "mad woman" in literary works,and a great deal of feminist criticism practice has come into being.The study of the "mad woman" has become a unique perspective of Chinese feminist criticism.However,there have been no works or articles specializing in such studies in the academic circles.Why Chinese feminist critics pay special attention to the literary image of "mad women" ?What is the significance of studying the image of "mad woman" ? How did these studies change and develop? What characteristics and problems do they have? What are the causes of these characteristics and problems? These problems will be discussed and solved in this paper.This paper is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,the author tries to describe and define the image of "mad woman" from the feminist perspective,points out the specific meaning of "mad woman",and further compares the different understandings and definitions of "mad woman" in different fields.Chapter 2 explores the reasons why the study of the image of "mad women" in the feminist perspective began in China in the 1980's,analyses the woman's issues in China before that,and further explores the reasons why such research originated in this special historical period and can be sustained.Chapter 3 further combs the development of Chinese feminist criticism on the image of "mad women",pays attention to the time nodes that domestic scholars initially paid attention to,summarizes the two changing characteristics of research objects and theoretical methods in the1990's,analyses the representative research results,probes into the development phenomenon since 2005 with the method of data analysis,and tries to find out the development characteristics of feminism in China.Chapter 4 summarizes the characteristics and problems of Chinese feminist researchers' study on the image of "mad women",including the weakness of theoretical application in critical practice,the limitations of the object of criticism,and the inadequacies of the understanding of "madness" of "mad women" and problem consciousness,etc.The authormakes further analysis to explores its causes,and tries to give solutions to these problems.
