A Comparative Study Of Huang Zi's Art Songs Singing Techniques

Huang Zi is the most representative and prolific composer in modern China.He has a very unique style in composing Chinese art songs.There are a large number of his excellent works have been performed even nowadays.This dissertation is divided into three chapters.The first chapter reveals a general idea of Huang Zi's art songs.The second chapter gives an overview of his art songs.It contains an overall analysis from the selections of creative themes,characteristics melodies,and timbre of piano accompaniment.A harmony analysis features the three types of art songs is also inciuded.The singing techniques of Huang Zi's art songs are mainly introduced in the third chapters.Taking his three representative Chinese art songs as examples,the analysis of their pronunciation,articulation and singing timbre presents the features of his works.Meanwhile,it can also help more vocalists who want to learn Huang Zi's art songs.This paper provides a positive view of Huangzi's art songs,and it will certainly be helpful for the development of Chinese vocal music.
