With the increasing bilateral trade between China and Nepal,the importance of Chinese language as a business tool has become increasingly prominent.Beijing Institute of Chinese Studies(BICC)is an educational institution specializing in the promotion of Chinese as a foreign language,proving good platform for the Nepali learners to China.This paper is based on the study of Nepali Chinese learners in BICC short-term Chinese training in China,combining second language acquisition motivation.The learning motivation of Nepali learners in China has been divided into six categories: integration motivation,tool based motivation,learner-level motivation,language-level motivation,learning situational motivation and cultural motivation.By investigating and analyzing 90 respondent's attitude towards Chinese language and their motivation to learn Chinese as a second language,it is found that the general motivation of Nepali Chinese learners is very high.The main factor that motivates them to learn Chinese is tool-based and culture-based motivations.Accordingly,some strategies are put forward to maintain the high-level motivation of students,to inspire other motivation of students,and to provide some reference for the teaching practice of BICC.
