With the great development of China's reform and opening up and the advancement of globalization, the cultural, academic exchanges and educational cooperation among countries have become increasingly frequent. In order to promote the advancement of modern vocational education, the Office of Education Department of Guangxi proactively seeks cooperation and hopes to establish financing loan projects with KFW Bankengruppe and the Asian Development Bank. The C-E translation of relevant government documents of this project is a key part in the process of loan application where the translator serves as a bridge between different languages and cultures. However, there are few related domestic studies on the translation of local government documents. This report is based on the C-E translation project of “Guangxi Modern Technical and Vocational Education and Training Development Program”.From the perspective of Reiss' s text typology, the author systematically analyzes the translation texts and explores proper translation strategies to this type of texts. The author first introduced the background information and major task of the translation project, and then briefly described the pre-translation preparation, specific translating process and the post-translation work.According to Reiss' s text typology, the author divided the texts of the government documents into informative texts. When translating, the translator should take the principle of faithfulness, accuracy and readability into consideration.Analyzing several typical examples in the government documents, the author then explored how to apply Reiss' s theory to the C-E translation of government documents and concluded several translation strategies, such as literal translation, addition and omission, conversion, combination and division as well as restructuring at the lexical and syntactic as well as textual levelrespectively.By summarizing the translation strategies of informative texts,it is expected that the report could serve as a valuable reference and guidance for the further translation of similar texts.
