A Research On Economic History Of Dali Region In The Mid-Qing Dynasty

Dali,as a frontier ethnic region,plays an important role in the economic development of ancient times.Combing through the regional economic history helps us respect the objective laws and learn from the past and present.Among the existing academic achievements,sorting out the economic development of Dali region in the middle period is a field to be expanded and improved urgently.Therefore,based on historical materialism and dialectical materialism as the guiding ideology,combining in Dali,Yunnan province,and the whole country,the historical data about mid Qing economic development and social conditions,through the methods of historical documents and field research,historical data collection,sorting,analysis,comparison,from the economic activity of input,output,trade,finance four to discuss the evolution of the Dali area economic development trajectory.The study found that the main economic characteristics of Dali region in the Mid-Qing Dynasty were as follows: first,the "explosive" growth of population caused the population and food crisis,and at this time,the reclamation of farmland became more and more difficult.The government turned its eyes to the scattered land in mountainous areas and allowed the refugees to exploit them.At the same time,the construction of infrastructure such as water conservancy has gradually shifted from Pingba to mountain area.Secondly,since the Mid-Qing Dynasty,the high-yield crops have been widely popularized,and the types of cash crops have become more and more abundant,and some regions have created characteristic agriculture.The grain yield is greatly affected by regional conditions.Under the influence of three-dimensional plateau climate,the yield of different regions will vary.Among all kinds of industries,the most prominent one is the rapid development of mining and metallurgy industry,which has promoted the prosperity of local economy with the support of national policies.In terms of trade,influenced by the development of mining and metallurgy,the transportation network was opened in the mountains between the mining factories,and the form of folk currency was also stabilized.The urban and rural markets were further developed,which promoted the domestic and foreign trade.The appearance of fixed merchant groups laid a foundation for the development of the commercial gang in the late Qing dynasty.In terms of fiscal revenue and expenditure,the Qing government insisted on benefiting from the people and making use of the people.Although the tax level of land tax was slightly increased in the middle and late period of the Qing dynasty,it was still lower than the previous dynasty.From the perspective of ordinary people's life,the poor are the majority,the main daily expenses in the survival consumption,but most families are willing to provide their children with education,pay attention to education.
