A Survey Of Application Of Mutimodal PPT To English Teaching In Junior High School

With the development of modern technology and multimedia and the further combination of language and technology,Multimodal PPT has became an important way of modern classroom teaching.Multimodal PPT teaching is a three-dimensional teaching method,which breaks the single linear mode mainly taught by teachers,and advocates the use of sound,text,pictures,audio,video and other symbol resources to mobilize students' various sense to create a kind of diverse,lively and lively atmosphere for high school English classroom teaching.Thus,it is of great significance to strengthen knowledge input and optimize teaching effect,and to meet the requirements of the new curriculum standards for English teaching in junior middle schools.Based on the Theory of Multimodal Discourse Analysis and Constructivism Theory,this paper adopts classroom observation,questionnaire and interview.301 students and 30 teachers of a high school in Mu danjiang city have been taken as the subjects of the study.Three research questions are discussed in detail: the types of Multimodal PPT often used by teachers,the effects of Multimodal PPT exerted on students and the attitudes of teachers and students towards Multimodal PPT.The results show that teachers often use visual modal PPT in the process of teaching,but the combination of audio and listening is not very ideal.However,the application of Multimodal PPT still has a positive impact on students' English learning,and students' interest in learning and learning ability have been improved to a certain extent.Besides,both teachers and students have a positive attitude towards Multimodal PPT.It is hoped that this study will bring some enlightenment for the further popularization and application of Multimodal PPT teaching mode.
