Nowadays,English is being used widely all over the world.Writing as one of the English basic skills can reflect students'comprehensive quality of English.Thus,it is necessary for students to improve their writing ability.Taking all the affective factors into account,anxiety is awful for the second language acquisition.Writing anxiety as negative factors will impact improving participants'writing scores because a large number of students are worried about writing.Finally,the Length Approach is considered as one of the efficient teaching approaches to deal with these problems.From this perspective,the purpose of the research is to explore impacts of the Length Approach on writing anxiety and scores in junior high school.The following questions are proposed in the research.1.What is impact of the Length Approach on students writing anxiety?2.To what extent does the Length Approach can improve students writing ability?These research participants were 74 students from two parallel classes ofGrade Two in No.1 Junior High School.The experiment lasted on 12~thh weeks.During the period of experiment,the experimental class(EC)was Class Three while the control class(CC)was Class Four.The traditional English writing teaching method was still adopted in the CC while the Length Approach was used in EC.Questionnaires and the interview were designed to address the first research question.Both tests and interview were operated in order to deal with the second research question.Additionally,all the data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods by means of SPSS.The research findings demonstrate that adoption the Length Approach can decrease students'writing anxiety,which is helpful to advance the writing scores.In conclusion,teaching English writing with the Length Approach is effective.In the end,some pedagogical implications and suggestions are summarized.The author looks forward to benefiting to students'writing anxiety,scores as well as the further research by mentioned suggestions.
