A Report On The Translation Of Worldwide Cost Of Living 2015-2017

This report is based on the translation of Worldwide Cost of Living 2015-2017 taken from "Special Report of The Economist Intelligence Unit ".The Worldwide Cost of Living is a bi-annual(twice yearly)Economist Intelligence Unit survey that compares more than 400 individual prices across 160 products and services.The Translation of the Worldwide Cost of Living can help human resources and finance managers calculate cost-of-living allowances and build compensation packages for expatriates and business travellers.Guided by the Reiss 's text typology theory,this report analyzes and summarizes the translation difficulties and strategies from the point of discourse,sentences and vocabularies.By studying specific examples,the author explores how to improve translation quality with the use of translation methods like liner,inverse,division,amplification,and conversion.It is hoped that this report can serve as a reference for future translation.Through this translation practice,the author has a certain understanding of the knowledge of econolics and know the consumption levels of the major countries and cities in the world.In addition,it is found that only with skillful language,extensive knowledge and enough practice,can a translator ensure the accuracy and readability translation.
