A Contrastive Study Of The Preface Of Jiwang Sacred Religion And The Form Of Jiwang Diamond Sutra

The number of running hand inscriptions in the Tang Dynasty is huge,among which the collection of Wang Xizhi's inscriptions are the most famous one.The introductory of Wang Xizhi's collection of the sacred religion and the collection of Wang Xizhi's Diamond Sutra are two inscriptions of Wang Xizhi in this period.However,the artistic and historical evaluations between them are almost totally different,the first one received high praise while the latter one was rarely mentioned by people.They are both the inscriptions of Wang Xizhi,but they have such a different historical status,which is worthy of our in-depth study.The available data show that the focus of most researchers is to clarify the difference between the rubbings or to only focus on the introductory of Wang Xizhi's collection of the sacred religion.Few people have discussed the reasons for the different historical evaluations of the two inscriptions,not to mention the difference or similarity of the sense of form.To clarify the relationship between the two,analyze and summarize their formal language,which will help us in calligraphy creation.
