The homonym "X is X" seems to be a kind of semantic repetition in form,but it has abundant semantics and has unique significance in modern Chinese communication.This paper firstly studies the semantics,grammatical function and pragmatics of tautology,then analyses the semantic features and grammatical functions of tautology structure,and discusses the relationship between tautology and context by using pragmatics theory;secondly,from the aspect of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,through designing questionnaires,summarizes the types of errors,and analyses the errors made by second language learners in using tautology.For the reasons,the corresponding teaching strategies are put forward to enrich the teaching methods of the same language.The full text is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction.This part mainly summarizes and analyses the research status of the homonym "X is X" ontology and introduces the topics and ideas of this paper.Chapter two discusses the grammatical functions of monomials and polynomials,which components can be used in sentences,and how they affect the whole sentence when they are used as different components.Chapter three analyses the internal components of the homonym "X is X" from the perspective of construction.It also discusses the part of speech of "Yes" and summarizes the types of adverbs before "Yes" from the different semantic types for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language with the homonym "X is X".
