In recent years,with the continuous advancement of computer network and communication technology,mobile learning has attracted more and more attention.Extracurricular English mobile learning is a good way to make up for the shortcomings of traditional English learning methods,and plays an important role in improving students' English level and English learning autonomy.However,related literature shows there are still some problems in the process of students' extracurricular English mobile learning.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to investigate the current situation of junior high school students' English mobile learning after class.The research participants of this paper are students and teachers,who are from three different junior high schools in Yantai,including 600 students and 5 English teachers.By means of questionnaire and interview,the current situation of extracurricular English mobile learning of junior high school students was investigated.And this study attempts to answer the following questions:(1).What is the current situation of extracurricular English mobile learning of junior high school students in terms of learning devices,learning resources and learning behaviors?(2).What are the attitudes of teachers and students towards extracurricular English mobile learning?(3).What are the factors that affect the effectiveness of students' extracurricular English mobile learning?By analyzing the data,this study mainly gets the following findings: firstly,the current situation of English mobile learning of junior high school students is not quite satisfying.Although almost all students own mobile devices,67% of the students investigated often use them in non-learning activities such as communication and entertainment.And 83.5% of students think that their English mobile learning resources are mainly from web pages and learning applications.61.2% of junior high school students believe that English learning resources in the form of synthesis are more likely to attract their attention.Then the frequency of students' extracurricular mobile learning behaviors is also quite low.Most students do English mobile learning 1-3 times a week.Secondly,almost all teachers and students hold a supportive attitude towards English mobile learning,but 55.9% of students say that their attention will vary with the content of mobile learning.And sometimes their English learning attention will be distracted by the entertainment functions of the devices.Thirdly,the factors affecting the effectiveness of students' extracurricular mobile English learning can be roughly divided into four aspects: English mobile learning awareness,English mobile learning strategies,English mobile learning hardware devices and English mobile learning resources.Based on the above findings,in order to enhance junior high school students' English mobile learning,the paper put forward some suggestions from three aspects.Firstly,students should improve their awareness of English mobile learning.Secondly,teachers should provide students with effective English mobile learning strategies.Thirdly,parents should provide good equipment support for students.
