For a long time,the academic community's overemphasis on the Yellow River civilization has led to the neglection of the Yangtze River civilization,the Yellow River civilization can be mistaken for the only source of Chinese culture by so many people.There are still many deficiencies in the study of archaeological and ancient cultural of the Yangtze River Basin.The excavation and research of many cultural sites such as Hemudu Culture,Zhangze Culture,Liangzhu Culture and Majiabang Culture are not sufficient,especially the aesthetic research,which is still very weak.However,there are indications that the archaeological research of the Yangtze River civilization in the Neolithic Age,including the Hemudu culture,will open a broad passage to the ancient world.The splendid Yangtze River civilization in the Neolithic Age will certainly make today's people understand and comprehend the great origin of Chinese aesthetic culture more completely.Through the research and analysis of the excavation artifacts of Hemudu Site,this paper tries to explore the aesthetic consciousness of Hemudu ancestors,and describes the aesthetic characteristics of Hemudu culture as comprehensively as possible,and shows the historical process of Chinese aesthetic culture in the Hemudu area.This paper is mainly constituted of the following three parts:The first part,the influence of natural environment on time-space of Hemudu culture.It focuses on the influence of natural environment on the formation,distribution and stratification of Hemudu culture in the Neolithic Age.In the geographical holocene epoch,several Marine invasions caused several disruptions of the development of Hemudu culture,forming four fractions in culture.There are mountains and rivers circling in the Ningshao Plain,it formed the geographical division of the ancient ancestors,and the distribution of Hemudu culture was starriness.The climate before 6,000 BC or 7,000 BC was more humid and warmer than the present,the soil was fertile,the plants were flourishing,and the variety of animals was massive.Such natural environment determines the production mode of rice farming,fishing and hunting for Hemudu people,and cultivated the unique life consciousness of them.It laid the material foundation of the rural aesthetic of Chinese nation and unveiled the historical prelude of the life aesthetics of human life.The second part,the emphatic analysis and generalization of the aesthetic consciousness of Hemudu people.Through the analysis and comparison of unearthed stone tools,pottery,jade and other artifacts of Hemudu site,the aesthetic tendency of the Hemudu ancestors was deduced,and the aesthetic concept and style of Hemudu ancestors are summarized.It is a process of trial and error for Hemudu ancestors to make wares.After having certain technical support,they began to consider the material,color,and shape of the device,and the artifacts produced gradually conformed to the aesthetic needs of the settlement group.The production of stone tools is generally partial to its practicality,and gradually cultivated the sense of "Beauty of Applicability".On the basis of paying attention to the practicality of stone tools,the Hemudu ancestors also cast their aesthetic eyes on the nature of stone itself,and intentionally highlighted the color and texture of the stone.In comparison,the production of pottery pays more attention to the shape.The potteries of different functions have different shapes.The Stone Axe,Guan-Pot,Bo-Bowl,Bowl,Pen-Basin,Dou-Vessel,etc.are mostly simple and unadorned.They are originally friendly,have the beauty of immature and the vitality of life.The jade is difficult to make,and the rareness of fine jade material makes it more precious.The beauty of the stone is jade,and jade art achieves the extraordinary beauty of stone.The gentle beauty of jade and its hidden beauty are the beginning of the moral comparison by the later generations,and it also reflects the perfect integration of divinity and humanity,religion and secularness,etiquette and art in the aesthetic consciousness of the Hemudu ancestors,showing the unique spiritual beauty of the ancestors in the neolithic settlements.The third part,interpretation of the aesthetic value and significance of Hemudu culture.Through the comparative study of Hemudu culture with neighboring cultures,the aesthetic characteristics of Hemudu culture are further highlighted.And the value,significance and status of Hemudu culture in the history of Chinese civilization and aesthetics are also clarified.
