In the 21 st century tourism competition and inter-regional competition,tourism brand management is an inevitable trend.The establishment and dissemination of tourism brand image has a significant impact on the branding process.This paper focuses on the participatory design strategy,which is a new strategy and new trend in the design of Japanese tourist destination brand image in recent years.Through a large number of literature studies and case studies,this paper summarizes the concept and significance of visual design of tourism destination brand image based on participatory thinking.And through the analysis of Japanese design cases,this paper summarizes the participatory strategies of tourism brand image visual design.It aims to bring new enlightenment on the visual design of Chinese tourism destination brand image in the context of social transformation.Firstly,it discusses the relationship between Japanese tourism brands and regional brands,as well as the concept of Japanese tourism destination brand image and its core attributes.Secondly,it expounds the necessity of community participation in the sustainable development of tourism brand building.Then based on the participatory design theory,this paper studies the concept and significance of tourism destination brand image design from three aspects: design goal,design subject and design method.Next,based on the research on Japanese design cases,the paper discusses the participation strategy of Japanese tourism brand visual image design,the setting of tourism brand brand image elements,the design of tourism brand logo,and the design of tourism brand image application system.Finally,it analyzes the status quo and problems of China tourist destination brand image visual identity design,and summarizes the beneficial experience of Participatory Design Strategy.Under the guidance of the participatory strategy,the brand image visual system of Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town was completed.The conclusion of the paper summarizes the main results of this study and points out the direction of follow-up research.
