The definition of history is worth thinking about.We strive to follow the footsteps of the ancestors to get close to the long-sealed memory;relying on the clues left by history,we relive those wonderful moments.During the Han Dynasties,Buddhism came to China from India and it was inextricably linked with Chinese culture.Meanwhile,it became a great savior in the hearts of the ancients.In the Northern Wei Dynasty,the war was raging and the hearts of the people were difficult to stabilize.The suffering people expected to obtain the peace from the beautiful world of religion where there was no slaughter.From the ancient times,when people danced hand in hand,the common rhythm reached a common emotion.The art of dance is an indestructible force that inspires national unity.It shouldn't be underestimated.Buddhism had grasped the particularity of dance art and gradually became inextricably linked with it.The important information contained in the flying image of Buddhism music and dance in the Henan Northern Wei Caves directly reflects the original history,whether it be dance style,body rhythm,or clothing.Therefore,modern people can correctly examine the music and dance style and aesthetics of the Northern Wei Dynasty.Features,but also provide a very precious image materials for the researchers of ancient Chinese dance historiography.As a discipline of ancient Chinese dance historiography,we need to emphasize the research through the historical materials of the literature.On the other hand,we need to pay attention to the study of image materials.The dance art with body language as the communication method is more reflective of the material world and spiritual world of human beings.Therefore,when it comes to Archaeochoreology,we should first take the occurrence science as the initial,to find the historical stage,form and regular methods in the process of occurrence,development and evolution of things.Then,regard the research object as an evolving process,paying attention to this process.The essential and necessary factors produced in it complete its ultimate goal: to study the material and spiritual world of the human being reflected in the image of music and dance left on the cultural relics.Based on this,we are obliged to integrate the research methods of various disciplines on the road of the future,and push forward the academic and authenticity of the ancient Chinese dance historiography study.This thesis combs the study of The Image of Buddhist Music and Dance in Henan Grottoes in the Northern Wei Dynasty through three chapters.The first chapter,based on the social background of Buddhism prosperity in the Northern Wei Dynasty,the "God" worship thought and the reasons for the people's fanaticism,introduces the birth of Buddhist music and dance.The second chapter,to be continued from the above research,takes the image of the Buddhist music and dance flying in the Northern Wei Henan Grottoes as the investigating object and analyzes it one by one according to the accurate data obtained from the investigation.The third chapter,the wonderful part of this article,analyzes the image of Buddhism in the Northern Wei Dynasty from the perspective of archaeology.Starting from the relationship between the study of ancient studies and that of dance history,the reason for the floating symbol of the flying image,the reference to the music and dance of the Central Plains,to the influence and the image carried by itself,it explains,layer by layer,the cultural connotation behind the image.Finally,through the "historical integrity" thinking to analyze the image of the Northern Wei Buddhist music and dance,and make a theoretical interpretation.The purpose of this paper is to inspire new ideas about the study of ancient Chinese dance historiography through the study of The Image of Buddhist Music and Dance in Henan Grottoes in the Northern Wei Dynasty.The image of Buddhism music and dance reflects the rich material world and spiritual world of the ancients.Although it is a memory in the past,but looking into the future,the continuous progress of the study of ancient Chinese dance historiography will eventually brush away the dust,so that we can understand the good wishes and lofty ideals of the ancients.
