| With the development of network technique,smart phones gain popularity among high school students.In recent years,a variety of learning softwares have emerged,and the use of vocabulary learning software has become more and more interesting to learners because of it is more interesting and personalized than traditional learning methods.By September 1,2017,Baicizhan APP ranked 10th in the Apple App store,and it is the number one English word software.In the Wandoujia application mall,Baicizhan APP ranked second in the language learning word software,and it is the most downloaded English word software.Baicizhan APP is full of pictures,audio and video,making it easier and more fun for English beginners and intermediate learners.High school English learning has higher test requirements than junior high school vocabulary learning.Vocabulary further affects listening,reading comprehension and writing in English learning.So it is necessary to do more researches on senior middle school English vocabulary learning.This study which is based on the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve and Multi-modal theories explores the effectiveness of applying Baicizhan APP on high school English vocabulary learning by questionnaire method,experiential method and interview method.The experimental subjects of this research are 115 senior high students in a high school in Chenzhou,Hunan.The experimental class learn vocabulary by applying Baicizhan APP.The control class learn vocabulary by applying traditional methods.Then students in two classes receive an investigation and three vocabulary tests.This study mainly uses the experimental method.The experimental study used the pre-test while-test and post-test experimental models..The results show that there is no significant difference between the students in the experimental class and the control class and the lexical scores in the part of speech conversion and Chinese-English translation.but there is significant difference on words dictation and translation from English to Chinese.Meanwhile,the result of posttest shows that experimental class increased more obviously than control class and there is the significant difference in two classes.Finally,some suggestions were made to students,teachers,and schools,and the study was rethought,in order to improve it in future research. |
