The Studies Of Mandarin Ducks And Butterflies School Literature Under The View Of Overseas Sinology

This paper concentrates on the researches of the "Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies School" of modern Chinese literature which were carried on by western sinologists in the study of Chinese modern literature field,taking the studies of three representative sinologists in English-speaking world,Perry Link,Rey Chow and Theodore Huters,who have done systematic research on Chinese Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature as main objects of study.This study takes the strategy of these three sinologists' each study on Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature with emphasis,especially summarizing the characteristics of their methods of dealing with different study objects,analyzing the most representative and influential content in their research,and makes comprehensive criticism on their researches.Experiencing the development from the early pattern of C.T.Hsia's literary method and Perry Link's sociological method to the late pattern of Rey Chow's feminine method and Theodore Huters's intellectual method,the methods of studying Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature in overseas sinology field vary a lot.And the positions the Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature placed in their studies are different with each other,so are their attitudes toward the Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature,which are all especially reflected on each of their distinctive research routes.Meanwhile from the transformation of the research pattern from C.T.Hsia and Perry Link to Rey Chow and Theodore Huters,the change of overseas sinology 's attitudes toward the Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature can also be observed.The end of the study would conclude the advantages and disadvantages of these researches,and seek for the common problems that the overseas sinology's research on Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies Literature has,which aims for promoting the development of both indigenous and overseas studies of Chinese modern popular literature.
