"Nuo" is the product of primitive religion in ancient times.It has strong primitive religious characteristics of ancestor worship and ghost worship.In the folk nuojumping ceremony,"inviting gods","offering sacrifices to gods","searching nuo" and "sending gods" all revolve around the functional purpose of "dispelling ghosts and expelling epidemics,praying for luck and naji".All kinds of economy run through the ceremony.Academics call Nuo dance "the living fossil of ancient Chinese folk dance",which was included in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage catalogue in2006.With the performance of "putting on a mask is God,taking off the mask is man",the supernatural force of magic and witchcraft is used to achieve the purpose of exorcising ghosts and epidemics,praying for God to return their wishes,praying for good weather and prosperity of human beings.Among the current research situation of Nuo dance,the study of taboos is still rare.This paper is based on the perspective of dance anthropology and folklore.Using the knowledge of dance and folklore,this paper takes Fengshi Post Nuo Dance and Wuyuan Long Path Nuo Dance in Southwest Jiangxi as the research objects.By means of fieldwork and consulting materials,the taboos in the ritual of Nuo dance in Shiyou Village of Nanfeng and Changjie Village of Wuyuan were sorted out and studied in chronological order in the ritual of "starting nuo","dancing nuo","searching nuo" and "round nuo".Through sorting out,we find that there are taboos in Jiangxi folk Nuo dance ceremonies,such as behavior,language,gender and time.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the reasons for taboos in Nuo dance ceremonies,as well as the characteristics of taboos such as witchcraft,clan and diversity.Finally,the author concludes that taboos in ceremonies have the functions of enlightenment,social integration,self-protection and ritual preservation.
