With the increase of the international communication,English is becoming more and more important as a world language.English course reform at primary schools is a necessary part of the basic education reform.English teachers at primary schools take the task of English teaching,at the same time,they are also suffering various pressures from the new curriculum reform and the new change of the relationship between teachers and students and so on.The teachers' job burnout is getting more and more serious,which directly influences their physical and mental health,their enthusiasm in teaching work,the improvement of teaching skills,and in the end limits the teaching quality of the schools.This article first gives a review of the relevant documents about self-efficacy and job burnout at home and abroad in order to provide a theoretical support to the research.Based on the questionnaire survey of the 108 primary school English teachers in Yuncheng,the analysis of the data processed by SPSS20 shows that: 1.English teachers' self-efficacy is high and their job burnout is not serious.2.English teachers' gender,age and professional title have great effect on their self-efficacy and job burnout.The male teachers have higher self-efficacy and lower job burnout than the female teachers.The teachers' self-efficacy,who have titles,is better than those who have no titles and as for job burnout,the former is lower than the latter.In terms of age,the teachers under 25 have lower self-efficacy and higher job burnout than the teachers above the age.3.English teachers' self-efficacy has negative correlation with job burnout's three dimensions,namely,emotional exhaustion,personal accomplishment and depersonalization.To some degree it can predict teachers' job burnout.The higher the teachers' self-efficacy is,the lower their job burnout is.The three dimensions of job burnout have positive correlation with each other.According to the conclusions above,this article,from three perspectives of the society,the school and the teachers,further puts forward some suggestions about how to reduce the teachers' job burnout.
