Corporate social responsibility is a form of corporate self-regulation,and also an essential part of organizational culture.CSR report specifies companies' compliance management,and clarifies companies' responsibility fulfillment.Publicity plays an important role in establishing a sound company image and expanding global markets.In this regard,great attention should be paid to the publication and translation of CSR reports.This report is based on the author's translation practice of Sino Guizhou Jinfeng Mining Limited 2017 Social Responsibility Report during her internship in China Gold News.Both the source language and the target language are available in its official website.Translators should translate the source text in an accurate way,and should also ensure that the translation conforms to target readers' ways of reading and thinking.Hence,during the translation,translators should adopt due translation methods rather than being confined to word-for-word translation.In this report,the author summarized characteristics and translation methods of both publicity materials and CSR reports,so as to provide a reference for further translation.The author analyzed language characteristics of Jinfeng's CSR report from two perspectives,namely lexis features and sentences structures.In terms of lexis level,there are lots of mining terminology and culture-loaded words.Translators should look up dictionary and read parallel text to find out the accurate or conventional expression of mining terminology.When translating culture-loaded words,translators should adopt compensation theory and apply translation methods such as transliteration,paraphrasing,annotation to help target readers fully understand its connotation.As for syntactical characteristics,in Jinfeng's CSR report,there are lots of non-subject sentences,long sentences and active sentences.English is a language of hypotaxis while Chinese is a language of parataxis,thus during the translation process translators should pay attention to the language structure differences and make appropriate adjustments.
