Dong Zhongshu's Political Philosophy From The View Of Tian And Human

During the Western Han Dynasty,Martial Emperor faced the challenge of the gradual expansion of the power of the vassal states in the process of establishing unity politics.At the time of crisis in political unity,the central imperial power urgently needed the unity of thought and culture.Dong Zhongshu combined the ideas of the thoughts of Hundred Schools of Thought in Pre-Qin Dynasty and systematically put forward the idea of "the theory of correspondence between Tian and human".He made "Tian" the root and core of all his thoughts,and attributed the development and changes of nature and personnel to the "Tian" arrangement.The political philosophy system based on the relationship between Tian and human was constructed,which resolved the political crisis and further developed the Confucian culture.Dong Zhongshu's purpose in constructing the philosophy of Tian and human is to provide a basis for his strategy of governing the country and the Confucian ethics.The core idea includes the "great unity" thought of political philosophy and the thought of "Dezhu Xingfu".Its essence is that "the Tian are attributed to Humanity",through the understanding of Tian,such as the fate of Tian,the auspicious disasters,etc.,to express their political philosophy.On the one hand,Dong Zhongshu made Confucianism closer to the political field.On the other hand,he still maintained the humanistic spirit of the pre-Qin Confucianism and pursued the ideal political pursuit of the king.Although the logical flaws in Dong Zhongshu's thoughts made the Han Dynasty classics rigid,he bears certain responsibilities,but on the whole,the significance he brings to Confucianism and political society is more important.The new Confucianism system created by Dong Zhongshu provides a theoretical reference for later political philosophy,and also has reference significance for today's China's strategy of governing the country,such as "the Great Unification","Dezhu Xingfu",and "Zhengyi Mingdao".
