During the teaching process of current Chinese courses for foreigners,the teaching research on plane classifiers in modern Chinese is not perfect yet.Based on this perspective,this paper takes a group of plane classifiers "zhang","pian" and "mian" and "fu" which are using frequently as the research object and studies the semantic extension and nominal collocation of these plane classifiers by using the theoretical method of cognitive linguistics.The study shows that the evolution of people's cognition is the basic motivation for the expansion of the meaning of this group of planar quantitative words and the extension of the semantic category of the type of quantifier is the result from which the meaning of the term is continuously extended to other meanings,in addition,the process of such semantic extension is not random and haphazard.The different members of this group of plane classifiers all have their own special semantic features,because they focus on different function,which can be summarized as follows: The "zhang" is mainly used for measuring things which can be opened or opened to form a plane or whose function is in a plane;The "pian" is mainly used for measuring a concrete thing in a flat,thin,irregular shape,or the abstract things that are with a large area,of a wide range,and with a fuzzy boundary.The "mian" mainly measures the things that have both positive and negative sides and the basic function is in its positive side.The "fu" mainly measures abstract or concrete things with large area and emphasis on graphic characteristics.The difference between this group of plane classifiers is mainly manifested in highlighting the difference in the plane function of their respectively collocated objects.It comes to the case of one noun with multiple classifiers,we also have to use it based on the speaker's need to emphasize a particular feature of something,which reflects the diversity and economic principles of Chinese.Based on the discussion of the semantic extended research and the characteristics of noun and quantifier collocation of this group of plane classifiers,this paper starts with the types of errors that occur in the process of learning and using this group of plane classifiers by foreign students,and analyzes the causes of their errors by combining with the present situation,then sorts out a set of teaching suggestions and teaching methods suitable for the plane classifiers.The conclusions of this paper have certain guiding significance for the teaching of this kind of classifiers in the Chinese courses for foreigners.
