A Study On Wuzhou Dialect Vocabulary

Due to the different historical backgrounds and different characteristics,the dialects of Cangzhou City have formed two sub-channels.The urban dialect is similar to the Guangzhou dialect,which is a Cantonese-speaking lang,uage;the suburban language is similar to the Guidong and Yuexi dialects.Scholars have not studied the vernacular of Wuzhou City,but they focus on speech and grammar,and the vocabulary has low attention.This thesis starts from the weak link of Baihua Research in Wuzhou City,and takes vocabulary as the research object.Based on the field investigation,through the description,comparison and analysis,it makes a systematic comparative study on the vernacular vocabulary of Wuzhou City.In order to show the basic features and development characteristics of the vernacular in Wuzhou City,and to deepen the understanding of the history and culture of Wuzhou,it can also provide some vocabulary references for the later study of Wuzhou vernacular and Guangxi dialect.This paper is divided into seven parts:The first part is the introduction,which is a brief introduction to the human geography,language division and field investigation of Wuzhou and an overview of the literature research of Wuzhou dialect.The second part is a brief introduction to the phonetic system of the Wuzhou District,including the initials,vowels and tones.The third part is the classification description of the vernacular vocabulary in Wuzhou City,which mainly includes 31 categories of astronomy,geography,seasonality and agriculture.The fourth part starts from the perspective of word form and word meaning,and observes the characteristics of the vocabulary of Wuzhou vernacular by contrast analysis with Mandarin.The fifth part mainly analyzes the word formation characteristics of the vernacular in Wuzhou City from the three aspects of compound,additional and overlapping,and makes a simple analysis of some special word formation phenomena in Wuzhou vernacular.The sixth part begins with the etymological features of the Wuzhou vernacular vocabulary,and discusses the lexical level of the Wuzhou vernacular,including the leftover ancient words,borrowing the words of ethnic languages,foreign languages,Mandarin,and regional cultural words that can represent Wuzhou.The seventh part is a comparative study of the vocabulary of Wuzhou vernacular.By comparing the similarities and differences between the lyrics of Wuzhou vernacular and the vocabulary of Nanning vernacular and Guangzhou dialect,the contact situation of the Wuzhou vernacular and the two vernaculars and the future development trend are found.The conclusion is an overview of the full text.
