The Composition Of Cultural Peasants' Social Capital And Its Effect On The Inheritance Of Rural Culture

Rural culture is a concentrated expression of China's farming civilization.The current rural culture is facing the trend of “desertification” and it is extremely urgent to protect the excellent rural culture.Faced with the fact that rural elites have chosen to leave the countryside,the development of rural culture has lost the powerful leader and inheritor.Even the neo-village elite who love their hometown have injected new vitality into the innovation and development of rural culture.The inheritance of culture still failed to achieve the desired results,because the inheritance culture also needs to mobilize the participation of multiple subjects.As an endogenous force in the countryside,cultural peasants should play their own role and use the power of social capital to inherit the rural culture.This study uses social capital theory as an analytical framework,analyze the social capital composition of cultural peasants and how they mobilize social capital to realize their role in the inheritance of rural culture.The study found that cultural peasants generally have an area of expertise,especially some skilled craftsmen,who have played an active role in inheriting rural farming culture and folk culture.They are also actively involved in the public affairs of the village,assist rural elites in implementing policies and contribute their own strength to the inheritance of rural culture.By analyzing the social capital of cultural peasants,it is found that social capital plays a positive role in their life.The social capital of cultural peasants is composed of pre-existing social capital and self-contained social capital,forming a kinship network,a geo-network,a karma network and a network of interest.Under the role of pre-existing social capital,cultural peasants realize the inheritance of rural culture through strong relationship resources and homogenous interaction.Under the influence of self-contained social capital,cultural peasants add new elements to rural culture through heterogeneous interactions,innovate the development of rural culture,and realize the external dissemination of rural culture through weakly related resources,and expand the influence of rural culture.In addition,the extensive resources of cultural peasants promote the development of rural education,enhance children's contact and understanding of traditional culture,it has positive significance for cultivating a new generation of inheritors.
