The Criticism Focuses On The Index Tendency Of Textual Research On Red Study

In 1921,Hushi wrote research on the dream of red mansions,which marked the establishment of new redology.Hushi sharply criticized the works of Wangmengruan,Caiyuanpei and others.Later,Yupingbo and Gujiegang also did a lot of research on the theory of "suppressing hongxue".The new hongxue held that the "evidence" searched by Wangmengruan,Caiyuanpei and others had nothing to do with a dream of red mansions,and the work they did was only "far-fetched appendages" and just "solving silly riddles".At the same time,the author puts forward the viewpoint that a dream of red mansions is Caoxueqin's "self-narration" and proves it with "reliable materials".Later,Zhouruchang,Wuenyu,Wushichang and others devoted themselves to empirical work and formed a system to make "self-narrative legends" unassailable.However,the study of new redology has been problematic from the very beginning.Firstly,the dream of red mansions was treated as a history book.Secondly,there is not much information about Caoxueqin himself.In the process of argumentation,there is insufficient evidence.Finally,when the evidence is insufficient,the researchers often adopt the research methods commonly used by the "hidden school",such as "inference",to solve the problem,and even "ignore" important "counter-evidence","misinterpret" others' words and so on.Firstly,this paper introduces the new redology's criticism of the "reclusive school",as well as the main viewpoints and research methods of the two "schools",thus revealing the "reclusive tendency" of the "textual research on redology".Then,a study on the causes of the "hidden tendency" of "red textual research" is conducted,and further points out the problems of the research purview and evidence of "red textual research".On the contrary,suyin hongxue also makes full use of the achievements of textual research and regain its vitality.Finally,this paper holds that: The establishment of "textual research on hongxue" is based on the criticism of "suoyin hongxue",but their research purpose is historiography,and there are too few materials about Caoxueqin and insufficient evidence,so they learn from and interact with each other in academic research,forming a special landscape of contemporary red altar.
