Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2015 for her non-fictional narrative works represented by Second-hand Time, has attracted widespread social attention. Her "polyphonic narrative" creative form can be said to be the creative application of Bakhtin's "polyphonic" theory in non-fictional narrative works.Today, with the rise of populism, the vocal form of "multi-voice" in non-fictional works is similar to the content of populism.Through the analysis of polyphonic narrative forms in Alexeievich's works, this paper finds out the relationship between polyphonic narrative and populist thought: polyphonic narrative is a form of expression of populist thought in the field of literature, and populist thought has changed the form of polyphonic narrative. From the development of Nobel Prize for Literature,we can see that literature has changed from elite literature to folk literature, and polyphonic narration has also experienced the transformation from elite literature to folk literature. At the same time, from fictional literature to documentary literature. In these two transformations, polyphonic narration has been greatly enriched under the influence of populist ideology. In the process of resounding, the author's use of polyphonic narrative forms has not fallen into the trap of populism which extremizes the people's subjective status. The creative subject abandons the extreme part of the populist people and expresses his thoughts on life, society and the future by means of ordinary mass organizations. It can be said that polyphonic narrative, enriching its theoretical form with populist ideas, abandons its extremism and moves towards a new road of development.
