The background of TV series All Quite in Peking is Peking in 1948, with the anti-corruption and anti-communist of Iron Blood Association for National Salvation and the implementation of monetary reform as the main plot lines. It shows the change of the time in the specific historical period from various aspects, which is a TV series characterized by polyphonic narrative.Since introduced into China, Bakhtin’s theory of polyphony narrative is usually applied in the research category of novel. Combining the theory of Bakhtin and its subsequent development both at home and abroad, this paper first clarifies rationality of polyphonic narrative discussed in TV drama in theory. Secondly, it analyses polyphonic narrative combining All Quite in Peking based on the theory.Text analysis can be divided into the following aspects.First of all, the paper will discuss diverse characteristics of time consciousness in Quite in Peking. Secondly, it will expound the dialogue character of individual consciousness and time consciousness from the aspects of great dialogue andmicro-dialogue respectively. Then, it will analyze the“unfinalizability” of dialogue in Quite in Peking on the basis of dialogic discussion.The polyphony narrative on the one hand expands the theoretical space for the analysis of Television work using Bakhtin’s theory. On the other hand, the analysis of polyphonic writing consciousness of the scriptwriter of Quite in Peking will provide worthwhile ideas and thought for the creation of large-scale historical dramas in the future.
