The Design Research On The Movie Typographic Style And Trend Of New Chinese Movie Posters

Superficially,movie posters are our earliest and most immediate impressions of movies before watching.They reflect quality of a movie and play critical roles in publicizing movies.In essence,they not only present development of Chinese movie cultures,but also development of graphic designs in China and symbolize soft power of Chinese cultures.Therefore,it is of great significance for studying patterns,styles and trends of movie posters.This paper studies patterns,styles and trends of movie posters in different periods after the founding of new China,in an attempt to solve problems with domestic designs of movie posters such as commercialized plagiarism and over dependence upon computers.In other words,Chinese movie posters are mostly neither original nor creative in terms of patterns and styles.In addition,their trends are impacted by means of publicity,including multimedia,TV and advertisements.Hence,poster design arts are still restricted by considerable realistic pressure in spite of their rapid development and growing maturity.This paper analyzes development of Chinese movie posters at different stages,makes a range of summaries in combination with related works,and explores a phenomenon of Chinese movie posters about their discrimination and similarities.By summing up past and present successful experiences,it analyzes factors affecting development of movie posters,puts forward schemes for making improvements and envisions future development prospects,in hopes that Chinese movie posters may be inclusive while they are spread to the world and interact with worldwide movie posters.Furthermore,the author hopes that Chinese movie posters may have their own extraordinary features in combination with traditional Chinese cultures,in order to bring people greater psychological pleasure and visual delight.
