In English learning,learning motivation is an internal psychological force that directly motivates learners to learn English.Motivation gives students the motivation to learn,motivates students' learning enthusiasm,and affects students' learning outcomes.However,English learning motivation is in a dynamic process and will not always remain the same.In the process of English learning,learning motivation will inevitably fluctuate or even decline.The decline of motivation in English learning will reduce the learning outcomes of students.This study believes that by studying the factors affecting the demotivation of English learning of junior high school students,it can help junior high school students to avoid the demotivation of English learning and improve the effect of English learning.This study proposes the following three questions:(1)What is the current situation of the demotivation of English learning of junior high school students?(2)What are the influencing factors that lead to the demotivation of English learning of Junior high school students?(3)Are there gender differences in the factors that influence the demotivation of English learning?In this study,342 junior high school students were selected from the Luohe Foreign Language Middle School as survey objects.A total of 342 questionnaires were distributed and 337 questionnaires were collected.Among them,there were 277 students with demotivation,116 male students and 131 female students.The study used questionnaires and interviews as the main research methods,and used SPSS19.0 for statistical and analytical data.The results showed that 84.3% of the junior high school students' English learning motivation decreased in all subjects.The demotivation of junior high school students' English learning is a common phenomenon,which will be affected by the following aspects: teacher's personality,teacher's teaching method,teacher's teaching ability,teacher's responsibility,insufficient self-confidence and self-efficacy,lack of effective learning strategies,lack of students' emotional cognition,lack of students' learning goals and willpower,class setting,school environment,textbook content,setting of school activities,influence of others and family economic and knowledge support.Among them,teacher's personality,teacher's teaching method,teacher's teaching ability and teacher's responsibility were attributed to the teacher factor.Insufficient self-confidence and self-efficacy,lack of effective learning strategies,lack of students' emotional cognition and lack of students' learning goals and willpower were attributed to student factors.Class setting,school environment,textbook content and setting of school activities were attributed to school factors.The influence of others and family economic and knowledge support were attributed to family social factors.Therefore,according to the degree of influence,the influencing factors of the demotivation of English learning of junior high school students are ranked from high to low: student factors,school factors,teacher factors and family social factors.At the same time,compared with female students,male students are more likely to experience a demotivation of English learning.Among them,male students tend to attribute the demotivation to the external factors such as school factors,teacher factors and family social factors,while female students tend to attribute the demotivation to the internal factors such as student factors.On the basis of the research of this study,aiming at the influencing factors of the demotivation of English learning of junior high school students,the related teaching suggestions to restrain the demotivation are put forward.
