English learning motivation is an important factor in junior middle school English learning.The new curriculum emphasizes the following factors,for example,teachers should stimulate students' interest in learning and guide students to transform their interest into stable motivation.The present study adopts the method of questionnaire and group psychological counseling to investigate the present situation of English learning motivation of junior high school students.Now we can take Taocun Middle School of Shiping,Yunnan Province as an example according to the results of the investigation.This paper attempts to use group psychological counseling to improve students' English learning motivation,and puts forward corresponding educational suggestions,which combine with the researcher's own educational practice experience.Research and adoption "A questionnaire on English learning motivation and learning strategies for the wa middle school students" English learning motivation questionnaire and "Junior middle school students' English learning motivation reduction questionnaire" English learning motivation questionnaire composed of two sets of scales.Choosing two classes,one is the experimental class;the other is the control class and using the self-designed group counseling program for the experimental class for 7 times,once a week,each time for 40 minutes,the control class does not do treatment.After the tutoring,the experiment class and the control class are tested with the English Learning motivation questionnaire again.The data are analyzed and discussed with the relevant theories.Here are the conclusions:1.The strongest motivation of students in Taocun Middle School is external motivation,while the weakest is internal motivation.2.The decrease of English learning motivation is related to parental influence,teachers' responsibility,financial support and teachers' basic teaching skills.3.Group counseling plays an important role in improving students' self-confidence,language attitude and external motivation.Based on the results and conclusions of the present study,the researchers putforward the influencing factors and motivating strategies of English learning motivation with the purpose of stimulating students' English learning motivation and improving students' English achievements.The practical program in the group psychological counseling has a certain effect on junior high school students' English learning motivation,which can provide some reference for stimulating junior high school students' English learning motivation after continuous revision and improvement.
