There is a profound and interesting clue in the tradition of Westem literature,which is the utopian imagination that began with the myths and legends of the Golden Age and Atlantis in ancient Greek mythology.William Morris constructed a future Utopia Panorama in the book News from Nowhere,which is a very important part of the Western utoPian literature;its ideological roots and narrative techniques have a great relationship with the Western Utopia tradition.This thesis starts with the text of the novel.The purpose is to explore the utopian narrative tradition and ideological tradition hidden under the surface narrative of the novel.From the perspective of political utopia and ecological utopia,comprehensively analyze the utopian thought hidden in the text,with a view to better interpretation.The connotation of the text.The introduction part of this paper mainly explains the origin of the topic and the research summary,and examines and defines the two groups of concepts involved in the article.The text is divided into three chapters to study the utopian thought in the novel.The first chapter analyzes the unique narrative technique of the novel in the history of Utopia novels,and clarifies the novel as a narrative structure unique to Utopian novels.The second chapter begins with the connection between the novel and the history of Utopia,and analyzes the novel's inheritance and development of the two utopian ideological traditions which is political utopia and ecological utopia.The third chapter analyzes the deep logical premise of the existence of the Utopian world in the novel:aesthetics and labor are communicated through the erotic ethics of human beings.The conclusion part summarizes the content of the full text,and interprets and summarizes the connotation of utopian thought in the novel.
