Modern Chinese literature has a close relationship with translation,so does the development of China's modernization. It can be said that many literary achievements since modern China have been closely linked to translation. Therefore,it is necessary to put emphasis on medio-translatology translation. The translation report is based on the E-C Translation of Western Literature in China and the Translation of a Nation(excerpt). This book is written by Shouhua Qi,who is an English professor of the Western Connecticut State University. The translation report consists of four chapters.Chapter One describes the translation task which mainly includes background information, textual features, and purpose of the translation as well as its significance.Chapter Two presents the process of the translation task, introducing the preparation process, translation process and quality control.Chapter Three is mainly about case analysis.Based on the specific case studies, the translator analyzes some difficulties encountered in the process of translation, and analyzes some main problems from the aspects of vocabulary, syntax and discourse.Chapter Four summarizes the translation practice and the translator's inspiration in this translation practice, and provides some advice for medio-translatology translation.Through translation practice and writing of the report, the translator has learned a great deal of knowledge on medio-translatology studies, and has gained a deeper understanding of how western literature has been translated into China. The ability of language understanding and literary expression has been improved. It also has certain reference value for the research in this area.
