A Study On The Ecological Ethics Of Carson's Silent Spring

With the seriousness of the ecological crisis,how to deal with the relationship between human development and the natural environment has aroused people's attention.This topic has caused many debates in the academic world when ecological ethics was born as a discipline.In the context of the deteriorating ecological environment and the continual advancement of ecological ethics,Rachel Carson completed the book Silent Spring.As a biologist,she reveals the fact that chemical drugs pollute the ecological environment and threaten human health based on her unique perspective and rigorous biological knowledge and a large number of ecological experiments.It not only promoted the environmental protection movement in the United States,but also made great contributions to the development of ecological ethics.This paper begins with the background and origins of Carson's ecological ethics thoughts,expounds Carson's analysis of the core discourse of ecological ethics and the direction of ecological ethics practice,and elaborates on Carson's "respect for life and ecological holism."
