This is a report on the translation of Chapter seven,Chapter eight and Chapter nine of Translation and Language Education: Pedagogic Approaches Explored,which has not been translated into Chinese,written by Sara Laviosa who is a renowned Italian translation theorist,translator and linguist.The whole book is translated by two fellow students and the translator as a team.The translator is responsible for the translation of the last three Chapters(Chapter seven,Chapter eight and Chapter nine),totaling 14,000 words.Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 of the Translation and Language Education: Pedagogic Approaches Explored illustrates translation-based pedagogy introduced in previous chapters with examples of translation and language teaching undertaken in Italian and English classrooms.Chapter 9 summarizes the book.This report is finished under the guidance of British scholar Peter Newmark`s Text Typology Theory.Translation and Language Education: Pedagogic Approaches Explored,an academic monograph introducing Western Translation Theory,is an informative text.Communicative Translation and Semantic Translation strategies will be applied to this translating practice.During the translation process,techniques of translation,such as word conversion,selection of word meaning,division,restructuring,translation from passive voice into active voice,inversion,amplification,translation of reference and translation of conjunction are adopted to maximize the preservation of the original content in the translation and to acquire the similar effect between target language readers and readers of the original work.By translating this text,the translator has further consolidated translation skills,and had a relatively comprehensive understanding of translation and language education.And the translated text can be a reference for traslation and language education research and practice.
