In modern Chinese,the asymmetry of monosyllabic antisense adjectives is widespread.At present,people mainly study syntactic components.This paper takes the monosyllabic antisense adjective "Da and Xiao" as an example,from the following aspects,we study the asymmetry of "Da/Xiao + N" :First,from the perspective of diachronic,through the semantic evolution,original meaning and extended meaning of "Da/Xiao",explore the root of the "Da/Xiao + N" asymmetry and analyze the asymmetry of semantic features.The second is to analyze the situation of "Da and Xiao" word formation in each meaning item from the perspective of synchronicity,and the asymmetry of its existence.It also compares the different meanings of “Da and Xiao”in Chinese and English,and helps foreign students to understand Chinese accurately.Thirdly,from the perspective of internal semantic composition,the asymmetry of the use frequency and semantic combination type of "Da and Xiao + N" is analyzed through common nouns and special nouns added after "Da and Xiao".From the above research,the teaching design of "Da/Xiao+N" is proposed for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.From the asymmetry,the teaching suggestions of six aspects of monosyllabic antisense adjectives are proposed.Faced with different levels of international students,teachers are encouraged to choose multiple perspectives,broaden the teaching methods and ideas of monosyllabic antisense adjectives,and expand the Chinese vocabulary to enhance the effectiveness of Chinese learning.
