Yangling is located along the Weihe Plain.Yangling dialect belongs to Guanzhong subgroup of Zhongyuan Mandarin.Yangling is in the transitional zone between Guanzhong subgroup and Qinlong subgroup.Based on field investigation and combined with some existing literature research,this paper systematically and comprehensively studies the Yangling dialectal phonetic system.The paper concludes the phonological characters of Yangling dialect,lists its homophony syllabary,describes the phonological change in flow of speech,compares Yangling dialectal phonetic system with the ancient sound system,and compares the phonological differences between Yangling dialect and Fufeng dialect,Wugong dialect and Xingping dialect.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces Yang Ling's geographical location,historical evolution,administrative divisions,dialect ownership,including the dialect's research summery,methods and significance.The second chapter introduces the initials,finals and tone.There are twenty-four initials,forty-five finals and four tones in Yangling dialect.Based on this,the paper makes a list of single-word phonetic coordination.The chapter three records the homophone vocabulary of Yangling dialect.The fourth chapter describes the flow tone change in Yangling dialect,which mainly includes two parts:two-character words sandhi and Erhua rhyme and Erhua tone sandhi.Lianyu tone sandhi is divided into overlapping tone sandhi and non-overlapping tone sandhi.The fifth chapter compares Yangling dialect with the ancient pronunciation,and summarizes the main characteristics of Yangling dialect.There are the main characteristics of initials.The ancient Zhi,Zhang and Zhuang words are pronounced as[ts tsh s]and[ts tsh s].The ancient Ni group spelled with Hongyin are pronounced as[1].The ancient Wei words are pronounced as[v].Ying and Yi words combined with oral pronunciation are[(?)],the oters are[? n].The main features of the rhyme are as follows.The Kaikou first-class Ru tones' words in Zengshe,Kaikou second-class Ru tones' words in Gengshe and the first-class Shu tones' words in Bang group of Xieshe are read[ei].The Hekou Shu tones' words in Duan and Jian phonetic system of Xieshe,the Hekou third-class Shu tones' words in Duan and Jian phonetic system of Zhishe are read[uei].The Hekou in Zhi phonetic system of Xieshe and Zhishe are read[(?)ei].The[yE]rhyme is from the Hekou third-class Ru tone in Jian phonetic systemof Guoshe,Zhenshe and Dangshe.It is also from the Kaikou third-class Ru tone in Dangshe while the initial is Ni and Jing group and Jian phonetic system tone and the Kaikou second-class Ru tone in Jian phonetic system of Jiangshe.The[yo]rhyme is from the Kaikou second-class Ru tone in Jian phonetic system of Dangshe.The[w]rhyme is from the Kaikou Ru tone in Jian phonetic system of Dangshe and Gengshe.The tone characteristics of Yangling dialect are as follows.In Yangling dialect,Yinping is pronounced in ancient clear initials and sub-voiced initials,while Yangping is pronounced in all voiced initials.Chapter 6 compares the typical features of initials and finals of Yangling dialect with those of surrounding dialects.Baseds on these,the paper summarizes the differences of phonetic characteristics through horizontal synchronic comparison.The main differences of initial consonants are as follows.Comparing the pronunciation of DuanJingJian group before Qichihu,the pronunciation of DuanJingJian group is the same at Xingping and Fufeng.The pronunciation of Duan group is distinguished with Jingjian Group at Yangling and Wugong.The pronunciation of the ancient initial Wei in the east of Yangling,including is divided into[v]and[(?)].However it is read[0]in the west of Yang Ling and in the border area with Fufeng.The main differences of rhyme consonants are as follows.The pronunciation of the ancient rhyme ShenZhenZengGeng is the same at Fufeng and western area of Yang Ling.The former nasal pronunciation of Mandarin in these places are all read after the nasal pronunciation.The Hekou rhyme of Zhi phonetic system are read Haikou rhyme in th most area of Xingping and Fufeng.These words are still read Hekoukouhu rhyme which is a round lip vowel[(?)]or[(?)]mesonic vowel in Yangling and Wugong.
