As an important classic of early primitive Buddhism,P?li Canon reflects the true face of primitive Buddhism to a great extent, and the Sa yutta Nik?ya is the content of many earlier chapters. The P?li Canon retains its primitive and systematic features in the process of its collection and dissemination and inheritance.Especially in the part of M?tug?masa yutta in the Sa yutta Nik?ya,many viewpoints on women's problems from the Buddhist perspective are recorded. It provides valuable information for the study of Buddhist women's problems.Based on the classics, this paper makes a concrete analysis and discussion on the women's issues recorded in the Sa yutta Nik?ya,combines with the historical background and the development clues of Buddhism, combs the women's views in the P?li Canon and the Sa yutta Nik?ya,and discusses the historical orientation of women in Buddhism. In terms of objective reasons, the Sa yutta Nik?ya can't get rid of the historical background of its contemptuous and contemptuous attitude toward women. However, under the historical and social background of Buddhism at that time,it revolutionized the viewpoints of gender equality and gender equality, objectively defined the essence of women, and judged women according to their personal character. All kinds of ideas and concepts show Buddhism's efforts in improving the status of women and promoting equality between men and women.Firstly,in the natural attributes of women's gender, the records in the Sa yutta Nik?ya distinguish the differences between men and women from the perspective of physiological and social division of labor with a more objective attitude. In terms of social life and family ethics, according to the current situation of social life and system at that time, many moral standards and codes of conduct were put forward for women at home, including some derogatory remarks about women and tacit attitude towards women's subordination to male status. However,in some aspects of gender social ethics, men and women have corresponding requirements,so as to promote family harmony and orderly social development, showing a certain degree of gender equality consciousness.Within the scope of religion, according to the different stages of practicing, different subjects and positions of believers, the evaluation of women and the definition of women's status have resulted in more complex situations due to the dual nature of social influence and religious life.On the one hand,in the stage of practice, from the point of view of male practitioners, women themselves are regarded as a part of people who do not have enough wisdom and are addicted to the secular world. As far as the impact on men is concerned, women are addicted to love and good at seducing men.Their existence will greatly affect the purity of practice. It can be seen from this that no matter for what purpose,it is self-evident that they belittle women. On the other hand, when women are the subjects of practice, the records in the classics show completely different attitudes.Women have the same potential as men,and even better female characteristics than men are highlighted.Female practice is allowed, even encouraged.Under the background of male chauvinism and family life, women were generally confined in ancient society. They could not realize their personal pursuit of self-worth by relying on their own skills in society. The emergence of Buddhism provided women with a new way out of their secular family life, promoted women's self-awakening in the environment at that time, and created new possibilities for them to pursue their soul destination and spiritual value. In the pursuit of the ultimate goal of liberation, the Buddha put forward the idea of equality of all living beings in the place of creation. The gender equality of liberation is based on the core doctrine that all living beings are the same as Buddha.Women are qualified to practise, and they can achieve ultimate liberation under the guidance of Buddha. In this regard, there is no difference between men and women.Generally speaking, the concept of women in the Sa yutta Nik?ya emphasizes women's duty of serving men in social ethics, agrees that women are subordinate to men.In the process of practice, women are depreciated from men's point of view, and on the other hand, the potential of women's practice is affirmed and encouraged. There is no difference in emphasizing equality between men and women on the issue of emancipation.
