Judges in Fanzhen,as an important part of the official assistant of Fanfu, are an indispensable part of the research on the official position of Fanfu in the middle and late Tang Dynasty.Through the study of the origin, function, type, origin, official position and leading rank of the judges in Fanzhen, this paper explores the game between Tang court and Fanzhen.I hope to have a more complete understanding of this kind of curtain group.Fanzhen judges are generally of good origin, and their prospects for official career are also optimistic. However, the Heshuo-type and Central Plains Fanzhen judges are relatively poor in both the categories of high-level civilian officials and the rank of officials. This reflects that Heshuo-type Fanzhen judges show certain regional characteristics, and the mobility between them and the central government is poor. From the analysis of the two kinds of Fanzhen judges, the Heshuo type is superior to the Central Plains Fanzhen judges in terms of the type or grade of the judges, which is related to the palliative policy of the Tang Dynasty toward the three towns of Heshuo.According to the analysis of the vertical course of leading judges in the central plains, the leading grade in the late Tang Dynasty was better than that in the early period. But it also shows the phenomenon that the later the times are,the fewer types of leading posts are. This is the reflection of Tang Ting's uncontrolled state of the place. At the end of this paper, three issues related to the middle and late Tang Dynasty are discussed through the role of Fanzhen Judge.Through the analysis of the prospects of the officials of Lu Shoutong,a branch of Fanyang Branch of the Four Rooms,it is believed that the officials of Lu Shoutong's First Branch were fair in the first five generations and prominent in the latter four generations, which is related to the willingness of the descendants of Lu's family to acquire scholarly origin and shameless entry into Fanfu. In fact, this reflects the decline of the family status which originally depended on Menyin. At the same time,we also analyzed the phenomenon of the contempt between the military and the civil in the Fanfu of the Tang Dynasty, believing that the literati despised the military. The invasion of the authority, salary and even life of the literati by the armed forces was a reflection of the dominance of the armed forces in the late Tang Dynasty and the independence of Fanzhen. Finally,we also reveal the key role of Fanzhen judges in the political game between Fanzhen and Tang Dynasty. We believe that the restriction of civilian assistants represented by Fanzhen judges on Fanshuai's behavior has a positive role in extending the life span of Tang Dynasty.
