As people know about the game on the value of education gradually,the word "game-based" appears constantly in all kinds of newspapers,magazines and papers.It is also slowly into the topics of educators.In a variety of media rapid development of modern society,the learning way has changed dramatically.Game-based learning also gradually drew more and more attentions.Compared with other ways of learning,game-based learning is more popular to the learners.In the process of learning English,the secondary vocational school students have developed a strong aversion to English learning for a variety of reasons.This not only affects the students' enthusiasm for participation in English classes,but also affects the performances of them.Among these,the students in secondary vocational schools are the most reluctant to memorize words when they are learning English,and vocabulary learning is the most important and crucial part of English learning.How to make the secondary vocational school students willing to memorize vocabulary and participate in English learning is a difficult problem for many English teachers in the secondary vocational schools.In the context of game-based learning,this difficulty can be solved by using game-maker-software to make English vocabulary learning content into games including pre-class game,after-class game,check-learning game and challenge game because these games make English vocabulary learning more interesting and attractive.The author took an action research on game-based in English vocabulary learning for the classes of the second Grade,a total of 79 students of two classes in her teaching in a secondary vocational school.According to the characteristics of the secondary vocational school students love to play games,the teacher would integrate the elements of game with English vocabulary learning content and scatter the learning tasks into games,which improves the students' interests in English learning and makes the students complete the learning tasks gradually by playing the games.In this research,questionnaire,interview and observation were used to conduct two rounds of action research.After two rounds of action research,by means of questionnaires,interviews,observations and analysis of the data of pre-test and post-test,it can be found that game-based learning can improve students' interests in English vocabulary learning and the enthusiasm of participation in English classes.Hence it can improve the effect of learning English.The results show that game-based in English vocabulary learning is welcomed by most students and the students spend more time on English learning after class,which promotes,to a certain extent,the students' autonomous learning and communication among students.
