American linguist Sapir once said,"Language cannot exist without culture." Language and culture are complementary and indivisible. While learning the knowledge and skills of English,we also need to learn the culture behind it so that we can better use this language for barrier-free communication and communication.Through literature review and investigation,it is found that educational experts and teachers hold positive attitudes towards the infiltration of cross-cultural content into English teaching. However, most of the researches on cross-cultural teaching are conducted in the above-middle-school and above-middle-school stages, while the researches on cross-cultural teaching in primary school English are relatively few. There are many researches on cross-cultural teaching, and the same method is applied to cross-cultural teaching. Therefore, from the perspective of primary school English cross-cultural teaching experience, this paper attempts to explore the practical experience of primary school English teaching methods to promote the quality of primary school English teaching and improve the overall quality of primary school students. This paper is composed of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which expounds the reason of the topic, the theoretical basis, purpose, significance, content, emphasis and method of the study. The second part is literature review and concept definition.By consulting the literature records of primary school English cross-cultural teaching at home and abroad, this paper aims to understand the current situation and existing problems of research at home and abroad, pave the way for further research, define the core concept of "cross-cultural experience",and analyze the relationship between language and culture, and the relationship between English teaching and cross-cultural experience. The third part is a field survey. This study selected 17 teachers and 400 students from two public primary schools in Bao'an District of Shenzhen City as the subjects, and conducted in-depth interviews with four teachers, the purpose of the survey and interview are: 1)trying to understand the implementation of cross-cultural teaching in primary school English class;2)to understand the primary school English teachers' attitude towards cross-cultural teaching, and also how do they teach in their class;3)to understand pupils' cross-cultural cognitive level. The results show that although most teachers acknowledge the importance of cross-cultural teaching in English learning ideologically, they fail to implement it well in their teaching activities. Most teachers transfer cross-cultural knowledge mainly through oral presentation, but seldom making it understood by students through cross-cultural experience. The survey also shows that primary school students' cross-cultural cognitive competence needs to be improved, and students tend to confuse local culture with foreign culture. Therefore, primary English classroom needs to strengthen the breadth and depth of cross-cultural teaching. The fourth part is the teaching practice research, mainly studies how to implement cross-cultural experience teaching in primary school English classroom.Seven kinds of experiential teaching methods are put forward, which are Chinese and Western Comparative Analysis Method,Task-based Learning Method,Situational Teaching method,Group Cooperative Learning Method,Game and Activity Method,Direct Experience Method and Music Appreciation Method. At the same time,a specific example of cross-cultural experience teaching is provided for teachers' reference. The fifth part is concluding remarks and suggestions. The development of cross-cultural English teaching in primary schools in our district is slow, and teachers lack the guidance of teaching methods, which leads to the low level of students' cross-cultural cognition. It is suggested that teachers should establish the concept of lifelong learning, absorb cross-cultural experience teaching experience from all aspects, and improve their teaching skills. The relevant administrative departments of education can organize cross-cultural teaching and training, provide conditions for teachers to carry out cross-cultural experience teaching, promote teachers' cross-cultural teaching ability, and thus improve the comprehensive quality of primary school students.
