Tea culture is an indispensable part of Chinese culture.Mrs.Rong Xinyu entrusted Beijing Trans-plus Translation Company to translate his book Tea Nation into English,in a move to publicize Chinese history, culture and customs related to tea.The report, under the guidance of Skopos Theory, makes a detailed review and summary of the C-E translation practice of the third chapter of Tea Nation undertaken by the translator.Tea Nation elaborates on the deep connection between Chinese civilization and tea from four aspects: the origin of human beings and tea species, the homology between medicine and food, the trade development along the Belt and Road, and the development of art and culture.Given that the source text belongs to foreign-oriented publicity material, featuring book names, ancient Chinese proverbs and culture-loaded words,Skopos Theory is selected to guide the translation of the source text.Under the guidance of three principles of the theory, which are skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule, various translation techniques including transliteration plus annotation, rewriting omission, reconstruction, combination, amplification and conversion are employed in specific cases to address difficulties in translation practice, facilitating the readability of the target text in addition to accurately conveying meaning and culture of the source text. The report is conducive to the translator's understanding of C-E translation of international publicity and has greatly improved her translation skills.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30.
