With the strengthening of China's economic strength,the world has set off a wave of learning Chinese.The preparation and output of Chinese textbooks has become an urgent need.The role of illustrators in primary language textbooks is obvious to all.Therefore,the study of illustrations in overseas Chinese textbooks is also an extremely important topic at present.Designing interesting,beautiful and local textbook illustrations,it has play an positive role in promoting overseas Chinese education.This series of Chinese textbooks was specially written for primary school students studying Chinese in Indonesia.At the beginning of illustration design,the illustrations have Chinese characteristics and also have Indonesian local characteristics.Therefore,in the process of illustration creation,characteristics both in Chinese traditional festivals and modern life in Indonesia are summarized.it create specific characters and scenes based on the content of the textbooks,and the scenes are displayed while being closely linked to the content of the textbooks.The creation of textbook illustrations is taken children's visual psychology as the starting point.There are several research methods conducted in this thesis,which including: literature research,comparative research,survey etc.From the aspects of composition method,modeling method and color selection,to discuss the rules and techniques of design visual language expression in illustration of foreign Chinese Indonesian primary Chinese textbooks.The study combines Chinese folk art elements with Indonesian local cultural elements,and further studies how to integrate the two into the illustrator,providing a new idea for the future Chinese language teaching materials design for Chinese as a foreign language.At the same time,some cultural and creative products were designed for the teaching materials to promote the distribution of teaching materials.The research is divided into five parts: The first part expounds the background,research purpose and significance,research status,research content and methods,research focus and difficulties,and technical route of the illustration design of the Chinese language teaching materials for foreign Chinese.The second part explores the related concepts of textbook illustrations and the use of primary Chinese textbooks at the current stage around the world.The third part investigates,locates and explores the design principles and applies them to the creation of illustrations.The fourth part is designed with relevant cultural and creative products.The fifth part summarizes the innovation of this thesis,and looks forward to the future development direction of the Chinese foreign language Indonesian Chinese textbook illustration design.
