The Thoughts Of Zhuangzi And Zen And Han Shaogong's Literary Writing

There was a surge of studying the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen in Chinese literary in the 1980 s.Han Shaogong,a man deeply influenced by the traditional Chinese culture,devoted himself to the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen,took them as the source of his thoughts consciously or unconsciously,and absorbed their great wisdom in order to guide his artistic creation and life.Han Shaogong is an important writer of Chinese contemporary literature.Han shaogong's creation started in the early 1970 s and has lasted for more than 40 years.What he conveys to us by his own creation is the ambiguous and profound enlightenment in the modern Chinese history.At present,there are numerous papers studying about Han Shaogong,but none of the researchers has studied his literary writing from the perspective of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen,which is a regret.It can be said that deeply exploring the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen and Han Shaogong's literary writing is also beneficial to understand the creation of the whole contemporary literature.This paper will take Han Shaogong's literary writing as the research object,to explore the connection between Han Shaogong's literary creation and the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen by combining the related theories of the later,and finally to unveil the implication of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen in Han Shaogong's literary writing.This paper is divided into the following five parts:The introduction mainly summarizes the current academic research on Han Shaogong's literary writing,explores the relevant theories of this thesis,and explains the research methods adopted in this paper.This paper expounds the significance of studying Han Shaogong's literary writing from thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen,in the aspect of fully understanding the writer and the history of literature.The first chapter discusses the beginning between Han Shaogong and the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.The first section of the chapter briefly explains what the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen is.It is no accident that the culture trend of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen emerged in the 1980 s.The second section of this chapter mainly expounds the connection of Han Shaogong and the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.In other words,all the following factors contributed to this contact: Han Shaogong's miserable experience in his early years,the influence of classical literature on him,his concern and reflection on the original regional culture,and his personal qualities of calm,compassion,sensitivity and thoughtfulness.The second chapter discusses the views in Han Shaogong's literary thought towards thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.This chapter is divided into two main sections.The first section discusses Han Shaogong's sublation of the culture elements of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.The second section mainly discusses Han Shaogong's modern interpretation of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen,which mainly includes three aspects: peace and tolerance(the spirit of great love);no-desire attitude(the fearless,enterprising spirit);mind-oriented view(the choice of being god or evil is decided by the mind in a second).The third chapter discusses the application of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen in the characterization of Han Shaogong's literary creation.First,Han Shaogong got creation inspiration from the wisdom of Zhuangzi and Zen and formed the characterization styles named Chaos,Ugliness as Beauty and Materialization.Secondly,Han Shaogong's literary works have constructed rich and diversified characters of thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen style who are living a village life being far from the worldly reality,who are free and unfettered and who love the true feelings of the nature.The fourth chapter explores the application of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen in Han Shaogong's literary creation.Han Shaogong studied Chuang Tzu's language and sayings of his philosophy.In Han Shaogong's literary works,the language images and language features are originated from the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.The language related to the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen in Han Shaogong's literary works is: humorous;vulgar but true,free;fresh and full of the thoughts of Zhuangzi and Zen.
