Individuals remember information about themselves better than information about others,and this is where the self-referential effect acting.Different groups with different levels of explicit self-esteem have different cognition of self,and the influence of such difference on self-bias is still unknown.Jie Sui et al.(2012)developed a new experimental paradigm to study self-bias at the level of perception,and used this experimental paradigm to prove the priority of self-reference once again.This study aims to conduct an in-depth discussion on the self-bias among individuals with different self-esteem associations,explore whether the difference in self-esteem has an impact on the individual’s self-bias,and whether the reward has an impact on the existence of self-bias.Experiment with SAT task(SAT,Jie Sui,etc.,2012)as the main task of experiment,subjects for self-esteem type of grouping,the self-bias differences were studied through the differences in the average response time of SAT tasks among different groups of subjects.On the basis of the results of experiment 1,experiment 2 further discussed the relationship between implicit self-esteem and self-bias.TheSAT of experiment 3 is on the basis of experiment 1,modified self respectively associated with friends is associated with two shapes,one of the shapes give reward value,in order to investigate whether the reward will promote the self deflection effect,and the subjects group division,to study different types of participants self-esteem self bias influenced by rewards.A total of 94 valid data were received in the experiment 1,51 valid data were received in the experiment 2,and 85 valid data were received in the experiment 3.The results show that explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem are two relatively independent psychological structures.High or low implicit self-esteem has direct influence on self-bias.High implicit self-esteem has a bias towards congruent self-concept;Rewards promoted the self-biased effect,and the quantity of self-biased effect with rewards was larger than that without rewards.The basic effects of self-bias do not disappear with the advent of explicit self-concepts and rewards;Rewards have direct promoting effect on low explicit self-esteem and high implicit self-esteem.The psychological mechanism of self-bias effect conforms to self-schema theory.
