In the art of painting, abstract is relative in terms of concretization and there are both differences and similarities between images depicted by abstract painting and those we see in real world. As an abstract expression artist Paul Klee abstract activist once said,“Art does not model the visible things, but to create something invisible.”Combined with the formation of painting style of Kandinsky, especially the features of lines in his paintings, this paper mainly analyzes similarities between the abstractness of the lines in paintings of Kandinsky and the art of Chinese calligraphy,in which emphasis is placed upon differences and similarities between the “intrinsic spirit” of abstract art and “meaning” of Chinese traditional art.On the basis of learning the abstractness in painting style of oil paintings of Kandinsky and his unique forms of expression, attempts can be made to use the above in paintings of author herself. Finally, brief descriptions are made to discuss the significance of formation and use of the unique painting language on artists today, along with reviews and experience during the process of painting of author herself.
