As Chinese families and society attach greater importance to children's reading, more and more foreign children's works have been translated into China, therefore, the translation of children's literature has drawn much attention.Although the language of children's literature is simple,it is not easy for translators to truly keep the translation vivid, interesting, entertaining and educational same as the original text.At present, the quality of translation of children's works in the market is uneven.Particularly, some translation practitioners do not consider the expression habits, understanding level and aesthetic taste of the children, leading to low readability of translated works.Taking the children's work Do not Feed The Troll(Chapters one to six)as an example, this paper, guided by the theory of aesthetics, explores the translation methods of children's lit erature from the perspective of language and culture. It proposes that colloquial expressions, proper rhetoric techniques and the splitt ing and integrat ion of sentences should be used in terms of language. While in terms of culture, both domestication, domestication with explanation and foreignizat ion should be applied. Thus, this paper argues that the theory of reception aesthetics which takes readability as an evaluat ion criterion has an important guiding significance for the translation of children's literature.
