In recent years,China has made remarkable progress in the translation of legal documents and its research,such as the translation of laws and regulations,contracts and agreements.On the other hand,legal scholarly texts,as the reflection of the latest achievements in legal studies and one of the most important means of realizing the strategy of China's legal culture going global,fail to receive adequate attention.For this reason,Woguo Dangshiren Chenshu Zhidu de Guize Shenshi is chosen as the source text for the translation report.In this text,the author analyzes the existing rules and current implementation of the parties' statement system in China and then offers her suggestions for the improvement of this system based on the problems and innovations observed in the practice.The translator tries to summarize possible translation methods and techniques through analyzing the text type and text features.Through analysis,it can be found that the text falls into the category of informative texts and can be classified as a legal scholarly text.It is formally written and well-structured with plenty of terms and professional expressions in the field of law.Therefore,accuracy and professionalism should be pursued in the translation.Besides,as the objective of the text is to transfer knowledge and information,the translator is supposed to make necessary changes for the respect of the language habits of the target readers so as to improve the readability of the target text.Based on the analysis above,semantic translation and communicative translation are recommendable combined with the techniques of finding equivalents,transliteration with annotation,transposition,blending and combining among others.
